Sitting between the base Satellite and its burly Road Runner and GTX brothers, the Sport Satellite offered a bit of pizazz inside and out to go along with its pleasant driving character.
Still wearing its original and vibrant "Matador Red" paint, this Sport Satellite further impresses with its rock-solid and arrow-straight body with gleaming chrome and stainless-steel trim. A black vinyl top as well as the original wheel covers and whitewall tires finish off the Plymouth's plentiful curb appeal.
The interior is just as impressive, looking more like that of a very well kept 6-year-old car, as opposed to one that's nearly 60-years old. Being a "Sport" Satellite, there are bucket seats as well as woodgrain accents on the dash and door panels. The original AM radio still sits in the dash, and there's even an original set of Plymouth floor mats protecting the carpet.
Under the hood is the bulletproof 318 V8 that sends the power to the rear wheels via a Torqueflite automatic transmission. This smooth operator purrs like a kitten at idle and provides plenty of power underway while power steering adds to the ease of driving this '60's classic.
As they say, they're only original once! This true time capsule example has been incredibly well preserved and must be seen, heard and driven to be believed.
